Hey everyone, sorry I havent updated my journal in a while. Like...before AMKE 2013 lol. Whoops. But I've been quite busy lately with school and working extra hours and visiting my boyfriend.
So here's some news from my events...
Anime Milwaukee 2013:
All in all it wasn't to bad of a convention. There were a few issues here and there but what convention doesnt have a little drama? I met some amazing people there and now I have a few new friends. Anddd *drum roll* I met someone special there. I wont be going into to much detail, cause that can wait for another time

.
Due to that con and the people I have met, I am finally starting to debut a few of my DC and superhero cosplays that I was never encouraged enough to do. Plus, its gotten me to work out more and build some much needed muscle.
Kitsune Kon 2013:
This was a surprise convention for me. I found out about it a month before it started. I gathered a few friends together and we headed up to Appleton for our first time at Kitsune. It was the best convention I have ever been to. BUT, that was only because of the amazing people I roomed with. Otherwise...well...the con kinda bombed :/. It was extremely small and there was very very little to do there. Also...I have never felt so violated at a con before...I wrote something about it on Facebook that a few of you may have seen but if you didnt here it is:

[link]After reading this article I find it completely true. Wearing a certain cosplay does not give ANYONE consent to harass you or ask you sexual questions or say dirty comments.
At my last convention there was a man I walked by in the Vendor area who, yes everyday, made a beyond rude comment at me or stared at me in a dirty manner. Besides flipping him off i should have gone up to him and said a thing or two or just went up to the convention staff and reported him.
Another person (or more than I could tell) walked behind me and made rude gestures or stared at my backside. Really now? Who the hell does that! Have some respect for people. You wouldnt do that at home, at school, or out in public, so what makes you think you can do that at a convention?
This is why I can no longer walk around at conventions by myself. I not only feel unsafe, but Im afraid for something to happen. NO ONE should ever have to go through that at a convention where they are trying to have fun and socialize.
So that's what I've been up to lately. Working, going to school, and trying to hang with some people. Anime Central is in a month so lets see how this goes!
